On the Peg

Game shooters will dramatically improve their field success shooting for pheasants, partridge, grouse, and duck by practicing their shooting techniques with the guidance and coaching support from our coaches.

Standing on a peg at a game shoot with fast flying game birds driven towards you can be a daunting experience, even for an accomplished shot, so if you are going to a game shoot, why not take your own experienced coach and loader to help you make the most of your game shooting day.

There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration when shooting game for the first time, apart from the obvious safety factors, there is the selection of the correct bird, judging the speed and height of birds, awareness of others on the shoot line and in the field.

When waiting for a drive to commence you should make yourself aware of the topography of the shoot along with the location of beaters, pickers up and other ground staff before considering to mount your gun. A good coach/loader will point out these issues and keep you aware of safety and etiquette on the shoot.

We can offer you an experienced and qualified coach in game shooting and loading who will stand with you on each peg and offer instruction and advice on in-field etiquette, bird selection and shooting technique or assistance with loading, to help you make the most out of your days shooting.
